CONTROLLING PAIN -

RESTORING MOTION

Choosing highly effective and well researched therapy is important to us. We have put together a rehab department that helps you to recover from your injuries, get out of pain and stay that way.

Piezowave Therapy

We were the first in Portland to offer this state-of-the-art procedure which originated in Europe. It is also known as EPAT or Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology—a sound approach to treating acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain. Myofascial Acoustic Compression Therapy (MyACT) is widely used in the treatment of acute and chronic pain in muscles, tendons, and joints. MyACT describes the use of acoustic waves to target tissue at varying depths to compress and manipulate tissue resulting in a focused and precise deep-tissue massage. The results of the mechanical stimulus delivered by MyACT can lead to increased circulation and pain relief – key components in the healing process. MyACT is widely used in the musculoskeletal system, such as myofascial dysfunction and pain associated with trigger points.

Mechanism of Action

Acoustic pressure waves are characterized by a pressure surge with an extremely short rise time, which is then followed by an exponential drop in pressure and a brief phase of negative pressure. The pressure waves used in MyACT focus or develop in the target tissue at the point where the pain originates from. The primary means by which pressure waves affect living tissue is based on the transformation of mechanical stimuli into biochemical or biomolecular signals. Described as mechanotransduction.

Postural Therapy

Posture Therapy can solve pain when other modalities have failed, because your corrective exercise routines will address your unique postural and functional issues. This positive stimulus will bring your body back into a position of balance where it can then heal itself.

Activator Method

The Activator Method chiropractic technique uses a spring-loaded, hand-held mechanical instrument called the Activator adjusting instrument. This instrument allows chiropractors to provide a quick, low-force impulse at specific points. There are more than 100 scientific studies to show the safety and effectiveness of this method.

  • Our Complete List of Chiropractic Services

Spinal Adjustment: This is the primary procedure used by chiropractors to correct misalignment of the spinal vertebrae (subluxation) and is done by instrument or by hand.

Extremity Adjustment: This is a procedure to correct misalignments to the feet, shoulders, knees, etc. Even though the pain may be in the spine; it can be caused by the feet or other structures in the extremities.

Applied Kinesiology: incorporates a system of manual muscle testing and therapy. AK is based on the theory that an organ dysfunction is accompanied by a specific muscle weakness.

Access Bars®: is a gentle, hands-on process where the practitioner touches a total of 32-points on the head to assist in mind and body healing.

Balance Testing (Vestibular): A precise balance plate is used to determine if the patient is at risk of fall or if they have traumatic brain injury.

CranioSacral Therapy: is a gentle hands-on technique that uses a light touch to examine membranes and movement of the fluids in and around the central nervous system. Relieving tension in the central nervous system promotes a feeling of well-being by eliminating pain and boosting health and immunity.

Spinal & Cervical Decompression: utilizes mechanical, computer-controlled traction devices to reduce the pressure placed on nerves in specific portions of the spine.

Knee Decompression: utilizes mechanical, computer-controlled traction devices to reduce the pressure placed on nerves in specific portions of the knee.

PTX Exercises: PTX is a postural therapy designed to eliminate chronic pain without drugs or surgery. PTX Method focuses on a series of gentle stretches and exercises to correct misalignments in the musculoskeletal system of the body.

EVOX: Is a process known as perception reframing that helps patients overcome limiting thoughts and beliefs that may be holding them back in life or preventing healing in the body.

Focused Pulse Wave: the application of high-energy acoustic waves to break down tissue or to promote healing and repair. Focused ESWT also stimulates microcirculation and brings stem cells to the problem area.

Hydromassage: Hydromassage is a therapeutic technique involving the use of water and pressurized jets to help massage muscles and other soft tissues in the body.

Massage Therapy: Our therapist focuses on stretching the joints and applying massage pressure in the painful areas. Disrobing for this massage is not essential.

Myofascial Release: This is also known as soft tissue massage. It is designed to break up scar tissue and adhesions and helps the bony structures to maintain integrity.

Myovision: uses Static sEMG (surface electromyography) to measure electrical activity of the paraspinal muscles while weight bearing. It's measuring the muscular response to spinal subluxation.

NAET: is a combination of the principles of Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Kinesiology and Nutrition in a unique manner to rid the body of allergies. NAET is a safe, holistic and non-invasive technique to stop your body from reacting to allergies.

NET: Emotional responses have physiological foundations and repercussions in the physical body. This treatment is meant to break through the emotional barriers that are preventing the body from healing.

Orthotics: Custom shoe inserts are made to help the patient to have a better gait and support system for the body.

Photo BioModulation (Red Light): photons enter the tissue and interact with the cytochrome c complex within mitochondria. This interaction triggers a biological cascade of events that leads to an increase in cellular metabolism, which can decrease pain as well as accelerate the healing process.

Pelvic Wave: The Pelvic Wave Chair is an entirely non-invasive therapy that stimulates the musculature for the purpose of pelvic floor restoration and neuromuscular control for urinary incontinence. The underlying technology is called Extracorporeal Magnetic Innervation (ExMI).

Radial Pulse Wave: is an advanced, non-invasive and highly effective treatment method that enhances blood circulation and accelerates the healing process causing damaged tissue to regenerate.

Rapid Release Technique: This high-speed vibration therapy is designed to deliver immediate results in the case of adhesions and scar tissue — usually a result of overuse, injury, or surgery.

REACT: non-invasive technology can stimulate muscles, nerves and tendons up to 4 inches deep into the body. Patients are treated with their clothes on as the bio-electric magnetic therapy requires no skin contact in order to actuate the tissues.

Reiki: is an ancient, Japanese energy healing technique where the person lies fully clothed and the practitioner places their hands lightly on or near the body. The practitioner supports the flow of “ki”, or lifeforce energy and the person can then access their natural healing abilities.

Spinal & Cervical Decompression: utilizes mechanical, computer-controlled traction devices to reduce the pressure placed on nerves in specific portions of the spine.

Whole Body Vibration: As the machine vibrates, it transmits energy to your body, forcing your muscles to contract and relax dozens of times each second.

Whole Food Nutrition: Providing the best of whole foods to help the body to heal. Most vitamins and minerals are made from chemicals even if they say natural. We have sourced all food vitamins to help.
